module final photo and self-crit

With the madness over with i really think that the three light pieces came out great. I do agree with Mr. Tony said about my piece about how the things on the wall is distracting and that he wishes it was a little longer and i used all the lights. I really did like my project and i think that it worked out pretty well.

I think that the illuminated and confusion pieces really turned out great i really liked the way the illuminated turned out better then the confusion piece. I don't have pictures of the confusion now but i will get one soon. I think that these pieces really used more of a different way of thinking from a project. I really thought backwards and really was happy with the final product.

module progress report

When first given the topic of find something and make something out of anything i really wanted to use something small and made it pretty huge. or a good size i chose thumb tacts and my piece really just evolved i really wanted to just make a organic looking for and nothing that really looked like something. I really wanted to show how it would look as a sculpture as itself with just glue. I think that as i worked on my piece and chose a area i used the light as my to main pieces and that ill have something to like bring the pieces together.

After hearing a lot of different aspects of the project, i really was taken back and really wanted to think about something before I started on the project itself. knowing i really wanted a cool texture i just went with that. I based my whole project around the texture of the piece. So i just started cutting out likes of text that made it unreadable. I cut where the words was chopped in half so it really is impossible to try and understand especially after laying them over and over. I then went with confusion because it was very confuse looking.
After approaching bill i really didn't know which one i liked better withe the one that is in black n white and the other that was the regular one he suggested i posed both on frame board.
For the other one i saw this big black background add that was just plain black i thought in my head that i really like that so i used it and thought to find a word what would help the piece. I found illuminated and it just looked wierd so i started to cutting out shapes of the big black text and put it all around the piece.

cardboard final photo and self-crit

I think that for my final crit i did pretty well replicating the project at hand. I really put in time and effort into this project and it turned out great. I do think that some of the wavy ones either should be taken out or i should have used more of the wavy ones all around. either way i reallly liked my project a lot.

Cardboard progress

In 3D class, Ive been really looking forward to my project being complete. I started the process with a object and i really been devoting a lot of time and effort into the project itself because i want it to turn out great. I've been really busy with this project taking a lot of time from cutting circles for the structure and inner circles for the bowl shape and fro the exterior there are these leaves that i really want to show how they look up close on a bigger scale. So far this is what i have and i hope that it will be done ill keep posting pictures on it as i get closer to finishing it.

Human dot photos

When working on our dots to show a image from the New York Times, we used a image from the Times and was assigned to use dots to portray the image using only 6 dots of different sizes. For this assignment, we needed to use our dot compositions to make a image of human dots. I interpreted as we can use as many props and i looked around n used the items around the Wash building with the help of my table. I really liked my photos and Photoshop that i did simple techniques to help give a photo more pop. I didn't really think that this was very difficult but creative at the same time especially from the images that Bill showed us in the class. These are the photos that i used for the blog:

Newspaper cinder block

On the first day of Wash, we where assigned the task to use a stack of news paper and elmers glue to support a cinder block. Immediately i thought of triangles and things that are strong that already support weight. I really wanted to create something that is very practical because i knew that the cinder block is very very heavy. I was thinking of anything that could be able to support not just  a cinder block but something even heavy like a person. I thought of a stool with three legs and I drew it out in my sketchbook. I also knew that if i didn't roll up enough news paper then the cinderblock would crush my stack of news papers. When i was building it i started with the seat because i knew that it had 2 b a good shaped triangle with less connections because connections would be weak. After i got the seat done, I knew that for height i wanted 2 roll newspapers horizontally so that i could get more height after i did i put the rolls of newspaper into the 3 edges of the triangles. In the end the stools legs where still giving out but i glued news papper around the legs so that it would be tight and it would be hard for the legs to give out. In the end the newspaper stool held because it worked correctly like i wanted it to. I was striving really hard to show that my structure can actually look like something we use everyday and be made of just newspaper and glue.
